This is just NOT OK! We all pay rent for our studio space and should confine our business to that which we have rented and NOT block the entry, exit, and door of someone elses business. This is so invasive…they even set up their own chairs in front of doors and windows. Shame! I miss the old Blue Horse when it was an art gallery and not a BAR!

Several of my large scale paintings were hung at The Boundary Bay Bistro & Brewery 1107 Railroad Avenue Bellingham, WA 98225-5007 (360) 647-5593. They are up just in time to help ring in the New Year 2012.
This exhibit includes:
Stitched; The Double Triptych
3 feet x 24 feet Oil on canvas $10,000
Because I paint en Plein air and I am interested in downtown Bellingham and the vibrant arts community that is found here, I have conceptualized and completed this double triptych in oil.
My challenge was to create a panoramic experience for the viewer to feel as though he/she could walk right into the painting and become part of it. I included many images that reflect our community using two different vantage points, the Waterfront Side and the Mountain Side. The Waterfront side of Bellingham includes the trains, islands, birds, parks, sky and weather approaching from the south, water activities, our fishing and marine tradition and the Georgia Pacific Plant. The Mountain side of Bellingham includes iconic downtown buildings, weather climbing up the foothills, Mt Baker, historical neighborhoods, trees, park fountains, vibrant street life and businesses, and if you look very hard you will find a flying saucer and a big foot making their cameo appearances just for fun! You will notice also the shadows cast by the Liquid Light of the Northwest.

Lynn Wilson will be featured on the downstairs gallery wall. She is a native Washingtonian, graduated from the University of Washington and has lived in Bellingham many years. Only in the last few years has she begun to display and sell her work, enjoying her involvements in the art community, and the many new people she meets. As she has always lived in the Puget Sound region she has grown up loving all the beaches, mountains, shores and water which is what she loves to paint. Her travels have taken her to many other beautiful areas to paint. She is a member of the Northwest Pastel Society and has exhibited at the Whatcom Museum in the juried show “Art and All that Jazz.” Lynn paints with Studio UFO, Trish Harding’s School of Art in Bellingham, WA.
